For One Day Only!!!
Resurrected
From the
Cyber Graveyard!
Ladies
and Gentlemen, Brace Yourself for the Wit and Wisdom of the 'Most
Ripped-Off Copywriter in the World'
(and
my personal favorite copywriting mentor)
John Carlton!!!
Hey there...
I couldn't believe it. I
was sure the file was kaput. I mean I'd tried everything I knew (which
isn't much, granted, when it comes to technology.)
So when I realized my
Seattle-based, computer-whiz mentee, Toolie Garner, was at an event in
L.A. I did a little groveling. She was more than happy to let me know
she was available to make A HOUSE CALL to help me fix the file and show
me some other computer shortcuts.
"I'm in!" I said.
So she came out to my
place in Van Nuys, met my family & pets, and went to work to resurrect
the video file of John Carlton critiquing my sales copy for "The She
Factor" and generously sharing some of his sage copywriting advice.
It WORKED! She got the file and helped me upload it to this page...
But hold
up...I just thought of this!
This is now MY video. So I
can keep it up a little longer if I want. BUT the other Carlton
critiques of
Rich Schefren,
Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern, Eben Pagen, and Tellman Knudson will ALL BE
TAKEN DOWN TOMORROW.
Do yourself a favor and please,
please, please visit this site now
www.RedHotSimple.com and
watch those videos. You'll learn so much in such a short time. And they
aren't boring either. They're masterful!
THEN get your butt
back here and watch my video...
I'm pretty darn good at writing copy, but
watching Carlton take a scalpel to what I'd already created was
something to be admired.
To watch the video below:
-
Just click the round arrow button on
the left,
-
Turn up your speakers,
-
Grab a notepad cuz you'll never
remember all of this....
The first few minutes are us just swapping stories about marketing.
Then he digs into my copy. Finally he answers the questions from my
social network.
Listen and learn...
-
17 copywriting
system checklist (where was this 8 years ago when I was starting?);
-
His take on
online video (this actually surprised me);
-
A no-fail method
to break through writer’s block (there’s no writer’s block – only
non-writer’s fear);
-
Insider tricks to
digging deep in the beginning research (taking care of this part is
probably the most important piece to great copy);
-
What he’s learned
from music that applies to copy (he’s been a rock ‘n roll guitar
player since he was a young lad);
-
His ever-changing
moods (yeah, we got into some personal stuff too);
And tons more...
Enjoy!!!
