What do you get when you mix a crab cake contest, a winery contest, and me? Heaven! This weekend John and I went up to Northern California for the annual Mendocino Crab Cake Festival. There were about 30 different entries of crab cakes. I’m talking about the best of the best chefs making crab cakes with barely any tasteless breading.

The wines that thrive in the Anderson Valley are white varietals and some delicious pinot noir reds. While I’m a Chardonnay gal (Rombauer in particular) I believe I developed a palate for pinots this trip.
